2020 Ram 2500
2020 Ram 2500
The Ram 2500 is the most powerful heavy-duty pickup truck available. This massive truck offers the best in comfort and luxury and has one of the smoothest rides you'll find in a pickup. For the 2020 model year, a new Nightshade Edition adds black accents and there are two new exterior paint colors. Lane change assist and adaptive steering are also standard on all trim levels. Here is a look at the 2020 Ram 2500.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2500 lineup starts with the Tradesman, which has 17-inch steel wheels, a black grille, black bumpers, and halogen headlights. The Big Horn/Lone Star adds a chrome grille and chrome bumpers, 18-inch wheels, and an integrated trailer brake controller. The off-road Power Wagon comes with black fender flares, black powder-coated bumpers, tow hooks, a winch, 17-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting.
Step up to the Laramie for a chrome billet grille, 18-inch wheels, and fog lights, while the Laramie Longhorn comes with a chrome slat grille, fixed side steps with the option for power-deployable side steps, and chrome bumpers. The top-level Limited has 20-inch chrome alloy wheels, power-deployable side steps, and the option for body-color bumpers.
Engine (Power)
The base gas engine under the hood of the 2500 is a 6.4-liter V-8 that produces 410 horsepower. The base diesel engine is a 6.7-liter inline-six that delivers 370 horsepower and will get 850 pound-feet of torque. Ram offers a high-output version of the turbo-diesel that will make 400 horsepower and return 1,000 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
All the engines give the Ram 2500 excellent towing and hauling capabilities. The gas engine has a cylinder deactivation feature that will shut down four cylinders when the load is light to help save fuel. When equipped, the high-output diesel can tow up to 35,100 pounds and handle up to a 7,680-pound payload.
Interior
The Ram 2500 can seat up to six people. If you choose the Mega Cab, the space inside is enormous. Stepping up from the base model gets you a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Cloth upholstery comes standard and leather upholstery is available in the higher trims. These luxury models also offer real wood accents and genuine metal accents.
The mid-level Laramie comes with an 8.4-inch touch screen, the Uconnect infotainment system, and the option for a 12-inch touch screen. It also has HD and satellite radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker surround-sound system.
Safety Features
A rearview camera comes standard in the 2020 Ram 2500 along with stability and traction control. A lane-keeping assist system with adaptive steering is an available option in all trim levels. Depending on the trim level, you can also add forward-collision warning, automatic braking, and parking sensors. An active lane control system is also available as an option along with blind-spot monitors, rear cross-path alert, and a surround-view camera system that comes as part of the towing technology package. This package also adds trailer reverse guidance, a cargo view camera, and trailer tow mirrors.
