2022 Jeep Gladiator

The Gladiator comes in a wide variety of trims and sub-trims. The main trim levels start with the Sport, which has 17-inch steel wheels, a full-size spare tire, Halogen headlights, and fog lights. Step up to the Sport S for a power tailgate lock and all-terrain tires. The Overland adds 18-inch wheels, automatic headlights, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, and rear privacy glass, and the Rubicon comes with 17-inch wheels, 33-inch all-terrain tires, fenders with increased clearance, and Fox shocks. The Mojave has a reinforced frame, Fox internal bypass shocks, and a 1-inch lift.

The sub-trims that Jeep makes available include the Willys Sport, Altitude, Willys, and the High Altitude.

The base engine for the Gladiator is a 3.6-liter V-6 that puts out 285 horsepower and gets 260 pound-feet of torque. It works with a six-speed manual transmission, but you can opt for an eight-speed automatic. The other available powertrain is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine that makes 260 horsepower that uses the eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Gladiator with the 3.6-liter engine will accelerate to 60 mph in just 7.2 seconds, and it provides a smoother ride on the road than the Wrangler. This truck can water ford up to 30 inches and has generous approach and departure angles that make it capable of tackling unchartered terrain.

Inside, there's room for five in the Gladiator. The driver will appreciate the expansive view of the road ahead, and the rear seats are comfortable. Cloth upholstery comes standard, and you'll get manually adjustable front seats in the Sport. Bump up to the Overland for a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and LED ambient lighting. Leather upholstery is available, and you can also get heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

The technology in the Gladiator starts with a 7-inch touch screen, a USB port, and an eight-speaker stereo. An 8.4-inch touch screen comes in the higher trims, along with USB ports for the rear-seat passengers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, and a nine-speaker Alpine stereo.

Every Gladiator comes with a rearview camera, front air bags, front-seat-mounted air bags, and electronic stability and traction control. It also comes with trailer sway control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and hill start assist. Depending on the trim, you can add some advanced safety features. These include a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with mitigation, and a front-facing camera. Automatic high-beam headlights are also available, and you can add rear parking sensors.
