2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee's main trim levels start with the Laredo. It has 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, roof rails, and heated side mirrors. The Limited adds a height-adjustable power liftgate, LED fog lights, and 18-inch wheels, and the Trailhawk comes with all-terrain tires, an electronically disconnecting stabilizer bar, front tow hooks, and a gloss black roof. The Overland has 20-inch wheels, tow hooks, a panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free liftgate, while the Summit builds on this with a gloss black roof and platinum chrome trim elements.

The Grand Cherokee is also available with the Altitude Package for the Laredo and the Summit Reserve Package for the Summit.

Power for the Grand Cherokee comes from a 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine that puts out 293 horsepower. An optional 5.7-liter V-8 makes 357 horsepower, and you can also get the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid called the 4xe. This powertrain develops 375 horsepower and generates 470 pound-feet of torque.

The V-6 has plenty of power for propelling the Grand Cherokee around town, but the V-8 provides quicker throttle response and acceleration. The ride in this Jeep is smooth and comfortable. It feels nimble behind the wheel, and the steering is quick and accurate.

The Grand Cherokee has two rows and room for five. The interior is upscale, with high-quality materials and a premium feel. Cloth upholstery comes in the Laredo with a heated steering wheel and heated front seats available. Step up to the Limited to make these options standard and add leather upholstery, or to the Overland for ventilated front seats and ambient interior lighting. The top-level Summit has four-zone automatic climate control, a wood-trimmed steering wheel, and a massage function for the front seats.

The technology features in the Grand Cherokee start with an 8.4-inch touch screen, six USB ports, a six-speaker stereo, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All but the Laredo come with wireless charging, a 115-volt power outlet, and satellite radio. If you add the Entertainment Group Package to the Limited, it comes with a 10.1-inch touch screen and a nine-speaker stereo. A 10.25-inch passenger touch screen is also available if you get the Entertainment Group Package.

Every Grand Cherokee comes with a long list of standard driver aids. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitoring system, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also comes with forward collision warning with automatic braking and rear parking sensors with automatic braking. Front parking sensors are available with the Lux Tech Group Package, and this group also has a surround-view camera and front cross-traffic alert.
