2022 Jeep Wrangler

The entry-level Wrangler Sport has 17-inch steel wheels, fog lights, skid plates, and tow hooks. The Sport S adds to this with alloy wheels, automatic headlights, and power-adjustable and heated side mirrors. Step up to the Rubicon for 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, rock rails, heavy-duty front and rear axles, and fog lights. This trim offers the option for a body-colored hard top and fender flares, and you can get steel front and rear bumpers. The Rubicon 392 adds high-performance brakes, Fox shocks, LED headlights, and a 2-inch suspension lift.

Jeep also offers the Wrangler in several subtrims and special edition models. You can get the Willys, the Willys Sport, the Sport Altitude, the Sahara Altitude, and the High Altitude. For the 2022 model year, Jeep also introduced a new package for the Willys model. The Xtreme Recon Package has 35-inch Goodrich tires, a suspension lift, and upgraded brakes.

Jeep offers the Wrangle with several different engines. The base is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower, but you can also get a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder that makes 270 horsepower or a turbo 3.0-liter diesel engine with 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. There's also a 6.4-liter V-8 that generates 470 horsepower, and the latest addition is the 4xe. This plug-in hybrid gets 375 horsepower.

The Wrangler outperforms all other SUVs when it comes to off-roading, especially if you drive the Rubicon. It has a specialized suspension with an electronically controlled disconnecting anti-roll bar and can water ford up to 30 inches. When equipped, the four-door Wrangler can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

The two-door Wrangler has room for four, and the Wrangler Unlimited has room for five. The entry-level Sport trim has manual windows and door locks and a manually reclining front driver's seat. Depending on the trim or package you can get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Technology in the Wrangler starts with a 7-inch touch screen in the Sport, which also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Uconnect 3 infotainment system. Uconnect 4 comes in the higher trims, while the four-door Sahara upgrades to an 8.4-inch touch screen and upgrades the driver information display. The Rubicon also adds a 115-volt power outlet, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio.

The entry-level Wrangler has a rearview camera, front and side-impact air bags, electronic traction and stability control, and an electronic roll mitigation system. It also comes with hill-start assist and trailer sway control. The Sport S and up offer the Advanced Safety Group with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, automatic high beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go. The available Safety Group has a blind-spot monitor, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
