2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer
Jeep recently brought two throwback models back to its lineup - the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Both are spacious family-hauling vehicles that can handle all types of terrain and deliver impressive comfort features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is a midsize SUV available in two trim levels, the Series II and Series III. Consider exterior features such as dual front grilles with Jeep's signature upper grille and halogen lights. You'll also find options such as LED lighting, heated side mirrors, chrome features, larger wheels, and a power liftgate.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a larger SUV with four trim levels: Series I, Series II, Obsidian, and Series III. Exterior wood paneling was a popular feature on the original Jeep Grand Wagoneer, but Jeep does not offer this feature on the 2022 version. A few old-fashioned styling flourishes are available, such as a two-spoke steering wheel and an inscription of the original model release year.
Standard features include LED front lighting, brake and fog lights, heated and power side mirrors, and a panoramic sunroof. Options include a power liftgate, chrome accents, power running boards, and tinted glass.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer models come equipped with capable engines that deliver plenty of power.
The Wagoneer has a 5.7-liter V-8 engine with a mild hybrid system. The combined output of the system is 392 horsepower. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers the rear wheels and includes a 48-volt battery that can deactivate the cylinders to improve fuel efficiency. Four-wheel drive is an available option on all trims, and Jeep offers three four-wheel-drive systems to buyers.
The Grand Wagoneer has a more powerful 6.4-liter V-8 engine rated at 471 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard on all trims, as is an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer deliver impressive driving performance, particularly on rough terrain. You can take either model off-roading if you opt for the four-wheel-drive system. Both are available with an adjustable air suspension, increasing the ground clearance by just over 3.5 inches, and selectable driving modes to put more control in your hands. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer can tow up to 9,860 pounds when properly equipped.
Interior
The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer are three-row SUVs that offer seating for up to seven people. Standard interior features include heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped and power-adjustable steering wheel, and leather upholstery. Every trim level also comes with a 10-speaker sound system with a 10.1-inch touch screen and navigation.
You'll notice a few premium enhancements in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, such as perforated leather upholstery and wood and aluminum accents. This model also has an upgraded audio system, massaging front seats, and heated second-row seats.
Safety Features
Jeep offers an impressive list of safety features on the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Each comes with a suite that bundles forward-collision mitigation with cyclist and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, a rearview camera, lane-keeping assist, and front and rear parking sensors. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is also available with a night vision feature, adaptive cruise control, and self-parking.
