2023 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler 4xe

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler trims include the Sport, the Sport S, the Freedom Edition, the Willys, the Rubicon, the Sahara, the Sahara Altitude, the Sahara High Altitude, the Sahara 4xe PHEV, the Rubicon 4xe PHEV, the Rubicon Farout, the Sahara High Altitude 4xe PHEV, and the Rubicon 492. The Rubicon is particularly well-suited for off-roading.

Jeep has added two new exterior paint colors to all the trims, a silvery gray called "Earl" and a dusty purple called "Reign." The original Wrangler style is a two-door version, but families can enjoy the Wrangler as well if they opt for a four-door model, like the Sahara. Any trim higher than the basic Wrangler model, and you'll benefit from heated mirrors and automated headlights. Those features are available in the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe base trim, however. The Wrangler 4xe also has 20-inch wheels that are prepped for rough terrain. In comparison with the standard Wrangler, the Wrangler 4xe has fewer trims: the base trim, the Sahara, and the Rubicon.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler engines can be matched up with an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine roars with 285 horsepower, but the five other engine variations are impressive as well. There's the standard engine with a hybrid assist, a four-cylinder pure hybrid engine, a hybrid 4xe powertrain engine with 375 horsepower, and a strong V-8 engine. All Jeep Wranglers have four-wheel drive. The battery-powered hybrid engine can keep you going for 25 miles on paved roads, but that distance may be shortened if you're going off-road.

If you want to maximize fuel efficiency and get 29 mpg on the highway, check out the 2023 Jeep Wrangler's diesel engine. It even outperforms the four-cylinder hybrid engine, which has a 26 mpg highway fuel efficiency rating. The Wrangler 4xe hybrid engine running on gas and electric has a combined fuel efficiency of 49 mpg-e.

As you move up the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler 4xe trim levels, you'll notice the transition from cloth to leather seating. Air conditioning and heating emanate from the circular vents on both sides of the dashboard. Jeep Wrangler drivers can view the UConnect infotainment system on a touchscreen that comes in one of three available sizes. At a minimum, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe has an 8.4-inch screen. Though Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and an Alpine stereo system are optional with the 2023 Jeep Wrangler, they come standard on the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler 4xe have basic driver safety features that prospective buyers expect. There are rear parking sensors and a cross-traffic alert system. There's blind-spot monitoring as well. Upgrade to a better safety package to get adaptive cruise control and automated emergency brakes.
