When it comes to Jeep vehicles, most people conjure up images of tackling rough off-road terrain. These compact SUVs can help you achieve a sense of adventure, no matter where you decide to travel. Keep reading to learn more about the amenities available on the 2019 Wrangler and why it is the perfect option for outdoor enthusiasts.
Trim Levels
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler comes with four available trims: Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon. If you plan to hit the road frequently, consider the Sahara and the Rubicon trims. The Sport trim comes standard with a rearview camera and the Uconnect infotainment system, while you can upgrade from the standard six-speed manual transmission to the eight-speed automatic one as well as a hardtop instead of a soft top.
The Sport S trim comes standard with keyless entry, power windows, and air conditioning, while upgrades include several package options with heated front seats, automatic climate control, and blind-spot monitoring. The Sahara trim comes with heavy-duty suspension and a specialized interior styling, while the Rubicon trim comes with a performance suspension and locking rear differential.
Exterior Design
Although the Wrangler underwent a major redesign in 2018, the 2019 models shouldn’t be ignored. The Wrangler has wheels and fenders that can elevate every trim. You get body-colored fenders standard on the Sahara and available on the Rubicon while black fenders come standard on the Sport and Rubicon trims. The fender flares are high-clearance for the standard 33-inch off-road tires, but they can accommodate 35-inch all-terrain ones. Three of the four trims come with two- and four-door body styles, with the Sahara trim the only one that comes with four doors.
Don’t forget about its other exterior features, including an easier fold-down windshield, which gives you a clearer view of the road. Previous models required the removal of 28 bolts compared to only four for the 2019 models. You can also fully open the roof in 20 seconds with just the touch of a button, as well as remove the rear-quarter windows for even more air.
Performance
With the 2019 Jeep Wrangler, you have two engine options: the 285-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 base engine or a 270-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Although the base engine gives you enough power, the turbo-four works better when traveling off-road and provides better acceleration.
Thanks to its powerful engine options, the Wrangler also has one of the best off-road abilities available. Its standard features include skid plates and four-wheel drive so that any trim is ready to hit the road. The Sahara trim comes with an option of the Selec-Tech full-time four-wheel-drive system that lets you put the Wrangler into an automatic mode that drives all wheels. But if that’s not enough for you, consider the Rubicon, which has a bevy of off-road-oriented features.
