What started in 2013 as a local family hobby has now become one of the most iconic places in the area. Step back into the past as you take in the unique collection of 1930s to 1960s-era roadside signage.
2. Johnson County Museum of History
If you’re interested in diving deeper and learning more about the area’s history, the Johnson County Museum of History really has it all. From exhibits on the early pioneers who first settled the area to installations on more modern history, you can find unique displays that will impress any history lover here, no matter how much you already think you know.
Admission is always free, and guided tours can be scheduled if you still want to learn more about what they offer. You can find the museum down in Franklin at 135 North Main Street.
3. Franklin Depot Railroad Museum
Right next door at the old railroad house of Franklin at 370 East Jefferson Street, train lovers can find the Franklin Depot Railroad Museum. Featuring a unique collection of historic railroading memorabilia and friendly staff happy to explain everything in great detail, anyone interested in trains or the area’s history will be very happy here.
Admission is always free, however, the museum is only open Tuesday afternoons.
4. Tube Factory Artspace
Drive about 8 miles north in the direction of downtown Indianapolis, and you’ll find one of the Indianapolis area’s best community art galleries at 1125 Cruft Street. Well-known in the local art scene, Tube Factory Artspace has a rotating selection of art exhibitions from select local artists of all styles.
