With both indoor and outdoor exhibits, you can keep the kids busy all day. Inside, you’ll find Beyond Spaceship Earth where you can learn how astronauts live, Dinosphere, and ScienceWorks. This exhibit explores the day to day work of scientists, and the kids can use science to ask questions and then find answers. There is a Playscape for kids five and under, and even a historic carousel for everyone to ride.
Go Swimming
For a winter day in the water, head to the downtown YMCA and swim in the pool. This facility has two indoor pools including a youth pool with a fun water feature and an in-pool basketball hoop. The City Way YMCA location opened in 2015 and also has three full-size gyms and an elevated indoor running track. The YMCA offers yoga, Pilates, and boot camp classes on top of a paddleboard if you want a new kind of water workout, and there are also water fitness classes and aqua Zumba.
