Make sure to check out these things you can’t skip in Greenwood.

Take Root Country Store

There is nothing like a good old-fashioned country store, and Take Root Country Store fits the bill. This store has a little of everything from gifts to candles and home décor. No matter what type of décor you prefer, you can find it at Take Root. Their inventory ranges from the upscale to rustic and everything in between. It sits in a former home on Madison Street and has many locally made and handcrafted items.

Mallow Run Winery

Just south of Greenwood in Bargersville, Mallow Run Winery is a great place to visit. It stays open all year round with events happening even during the winter months. During the holidays you can visit for a complimentary wine tasting while you sit and relax by the fireplace. Stop by in March for the Masquerade Under the Stars Gala for drinks, appetizers, dinner, and entertainment, or visit any time to try some of their award-winning wines.

Eat and Drink at Oaken Barrel

Oaken Barrel Brewing Company is a great place to grab a bite to eat and try a new brew. Voted Best Brewpub in Indy by Indianapolis Monthly, this place has two bars, an outside dining area, a family section, and a banquet area. The chef creates daily specials and the brewpub always has something to try. Some of their creations include Indiana Amber, Gnaw Bone, and Razz Wheat. You’ll find Oaken Barrel on Airport Parkway in downtown Greenwood.

Ella’s Frozen Yogurt

Ella’s Frozen Yogurt is a family owned yogurt shop in Greenwood. Ella’s features an ever-changing variety of flavors from cake batter to peanut butter and fudge brownie batter. The serve yourself set up makes it easy to get just what you want. Just pick a cup size, fill it with your favorite flavors of frozen yogurt, and then all the toppings you want. There is also a candy shop with all kinds of treats from Abbott’s Caramel and Albanese Gummis & Chocolates, and the “old school” candy section where you can find the candy you remember from when you were little.

The Greenwood Park Mall

Head to the Greenwood Park Mall for great shopping. It is the second-largest enclosed mall in the state and offers high-end shopping from some of the best fashion stores including White House Black Market, Von Maur, and Coach. This mall also features some great locally-owned restaurants such as Revery where you find affordable American cuisine.
